About You
Are you someone who truly enjoys making a difference in others’ lives? Do you have a calm, caring, and resilient nature that helps you thrive in challenging situations? If so, we want to hear from you!
We're looking for individuals to join our colleague team who can stay calm under pressure, who are enthusiastic and take a proactive approach, and handle behaviours that others might find challenging. If you have a manual UK driving license and are comfortable driving alternative vehicles, you're exactly who we're looking for.
What will you be doing?
As a Complex Needs Support Worker, you'll be more than just their support – you'll be a key part of someone's journey towards living their best life. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Daily Care & Support: Helping with personal care, meal preparation, medication, and other daily tasks.
- Building Relationships: Getting to know the people you support, understanding their needs, and helping them live life on their own terms.
- Empowering Independence: Assisting with personal goals, from daily activities to long-term aspirations, and encouraging creative exploration.
- Social Engagement: Supporting activities like holiday’s, social events, and hobbies, ensuring everyone could enjoy what they love doing.
- Respect & Dignity: Ensuring that the individuals and their families are treated with the utmost respect, dignity, and equality.
Who you will be supporting?
I will soon be living in my own apartment in Redhill, supported by SeeAbility. You will be experienced of supporting a young lady like me with complex health needs, which include autism, learning disabilities and Rhizomelic Chondrodysplasia Punctata. I will require assistance in all aspects of daily living including personal care; nutritional needs; communicating through Makaton and picture exchange communication systems; mobility and meeting my physical and emotional needs.
I love to go out roller blading at Battersea park and I also love everything Christmas, especially the music, so being patient to repetitive tasks is important to me. Sometimes my behaviour can be challenging, so having a positive, non-judgemental attitude is important. You will need to be calm, patient, and resilient and have a consistent approach.
You will work with me on a 2:1 basis as I attend day services. I also like to go out, therefore being able to drive is essential. If you are physically fit, reliable, and enjoy helping others gain independence, I’d love to meet you!
