Casual Support Worker

Location: Seaford, East Sussex

  • Salary: £11.88 per hour. 
  • Hours: Flexibly available, working on a zero-hour contract, covering 7.00am to 3.00pm and 2.00pm to 10.00pm, Monday to Sunday.  
  • Employment type: Casual, as and when required.

You must hold a UK Driving licence to apply for this role.

We're on the lookout for Casual Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You'll need to be able to drive and have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.

Furthermore, as Casual Support Worker you will be responsible for: 

  • Daily activities such as personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration.
  • Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live.
  • Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of
  • Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims. 
  • Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities 
  • Assisting the people, you will assist to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments.
  • Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality.
  • To work in accordance with SeeAbility’s values

We're looking for someone who can be available flexibly to cover periods of annual leave and sickness on an ad-hoc basis. You will be willing to work flexibly across both homes and able to commit to early, late or weekend shifts.

Who will you be supporting

Applewood

Applewood is a residential home for 5 adults who are young at heart with a range of disabilities. 

You will be part of an inclusive, supportive team that works well together. You will provide support to people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and visual impairments. You will use your knowledge and skills to support people lead a valued and fulfilled life.

Barclay House

Barclay House is a residential home for 9 adults who have learning disabilities, sight loss and other health needs. This home is a forward-thinking home, always striving to improve and enhance the lives of the people we support.

You will work alongside an established staff team who share knowledge and passion for making a difference to the people we support in whatever way we can.

You will be able to work flexibly across both services in Seaford as a casual support worker, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn't do last week because of you.
