 Supported Living Support Worker Based in Kennington, near Oxford.

Salary: £12.50 per hour (equivalent to £24,375 per annum plus an *additional £1'820 per annum based on 1 Sleep In per week) 

Full or part time positions, 37.5 hours per week, Permanent, well established Charity for Learning Disability, autism and sight loss/difficulties

Overview of the role

We are looking for highly skilled support workers to build a specialist team to support a young man and help him at the beginning of the next chapter of his life, to start a new journey outside of an institutional setting into a supported living environment where he can thrive, be happy and achieve things he never thought possible. You will work in partnership with him and his family to help him enjoy the things he loves, such as getting out in his community, and hanging out with friends and family.

You’ll provide exceptional person centred support, which will enable him to move their life forward with community connections, friends, hobbies, interests, and work.  You will be creative in ensuring that the support provided is safe, empowered to live the life that they want to lead and is happy. 

The service has two homes next to each other in Kennington, this particular role, is to work with one particular person.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engages with and follows individual Care Plans
  • Updates Care Plans and risk assessments
  • Ability to confidently deal with behaviours that challenge
  • Provides key worker support 
  • Act as advocate for the young person
  • Resilient, Positive and professional 
  • Participation in a wide range of activities in the Service and community 
  • Ability to work within policy, process and systems of work e.g. medication management 
  • Flexibility to work rota system e.g. early morning, evening, weekends, sleep-ins 
  • Use own initiative and to multi-task 
  • Work well in a team
