New to care? Not something you have done before but would like a change in career or do something that makes a difference? This may well be the job for you! We are a supported living service based in a small cul-de-sac in a quiet part of Leatherhead. We provide support to 26 individuals living in their own homes, all of whom have a different level of independence and different health needs, different ages ranging from 50 to 90+, all with a visual impairment and some mild learning disabilities.

We are looking for full time support workers to come and be part of our team, no previous experience in the field is needed. As long as you have good communication skills a willingness to learn and a passion for doing what is right! There is no driving involved in the role so a driving licence is not required. You will be joining a varied team with support workers with many years of experience both in the service and in care and newer members of the team without much experience. Comprehensive training package will be provided and shadowing current support workers and support will be offered throughout.

Our role as a team is to help individuals maintain their independence in their own home, leading a happy fulfilled and meaningful life. The team’s role is to support individuals to be independent, to work alongside them and get them involved in their support. We are not here to do things for people but to work with them to help them achieve their goals big or small!  We support with various tasks and activities such as:

  • Shopping and accessing facilities in the local community such as pubs, restaurants and cafes
  • Escorting out to visit the theatre, cinema, shows and concerts
  • Support to access local gyms and swimming
  • Escorting to access local church services
  • Support to maintain health needs and attend medical appointments
  • Support with personal care and medication
  • Supporting with general house hold tasks, such as cooking, laundry and cleaning
  • Support individuals to feel safe inside and outside of their homes

If you feel this is something that interests you and would like to know more please ring the registered manager Laurence Hutchinson on 01372 220910 or if you would like to visit the service and take a look around or ask questions please ring and arrange a time.
