Location: Horley, Surrey

Hours: 37.5 Full time, Part-time positions also available

So you’ve decided that you’d like to become a support worker, but what’s in it for you? For many people, it’s job satisfaction. Yes, it can be a challenging career, but it’s also hugely rewarding as support workers can make a genuine and positive difference to people’s lives by empowering them to reach their full potential.

On a day-to-day basis the job typically includes helping with meal preparation, household chores, administering medication, managing finances, accessing community facilities, going shopping, meeting friends, visiting the doctors, finding a job, or providing general emotional support. The list really is endless.

There are no specific qualifications needed to be a support worker – beyond a good attitude and willingness to learn, which are essential – but experience in the care sector is definitely advantageous.

Horley Support Service is a supported living service for 6 adults with very complex needs including physical disabilities, epilepsy, visual impairments, cerebral palsy and learning disabilities.  The people we support enjoy hydro, rebound, horse riding, cooking, sugar craft and being out in the community and they love going away on holiday.

At Horley Support Service we also support four people in Outreach where we go to their homes and support them.

Successful applicants for this role will require an enhanced DBS check (paid for by SeeAbility).

We are a responsive employer and every application to be responded to.
