About The Role
SeeAbility’s Children in Focus Campaign is transforming eye care for children with disabilities across England. Our project involves providing all aspects of eye care within the school environment.  We are looking for an optometrist to be part of the clinical team delivering sight tests and dispensing spectacles to children with learning disabilities in our established service in special needs schools in Greenwich London SE!0.
The daily rate of pay will be remuneration for testing 6-8 children in school hours as well as data collection using Excel spreadsheets and writing reports for each child following their completed assessment.
About You:
You will be an experienced optometrist with a special interest in pedeatrics and in supporting people with complex needs, learning disabilities and autism.  You will have excellent communication skills, including an ability to write detailed reports explaining children's visual abilities, needs and limitations for parents and teaching staff.  You will be willing to travel to schools in Greenwich to provide eye care with the support of SeeAbility's dispensing opticians, practice manager, practice administrator and clinical lead. You will be require to attend termly team meetings and peer review session at our head office in Epsom  All equipment provided. Good retinoscopy skills and a flexible approach essential!
