'Hi, my name is Joshua and I'm currently living in my own home in Folkestone, Kent.
Experience supporting people like me, a man with autism, would be essential. I am looking for people who are calm, patient and a positive to join my team. You need to support me to lead the life I want and encourage me to be gradually become more skilled and confident.
I like to go out. Therefore, we are looking for drivers so you must hold a valid driving licence and have a willingness to drive. I enjoy visiting castles and love to go swimming, so I would love it, if you like these things too. At home, I like a quiet and happy environment, but also love Harry Potter and Disney Pixar too!
You will have knowledge of autism and be physically fit, and 100% reliable. I have autism and sometimes my behaviour can be challenging but that shouldn’t stop me doing the things I love and leading an active life.
Sometimes I will need your encouragement to learn life skills and gain independence, but that’s something everyone needs at times. It's essential that you are gentle, can see the value in small gains. You will follow coaching from my behaviour support plan and are willing to help and support me when needed. We will get along just fine!
This is a challenging role but very rewarding for the right person.
