Who will you be supporting?

Hi, my name is Jack. I am a young man looking for a Deputy Manager to join my A Team!

I am caring, loving, interesting and have a wicked sense of humour. I enjoy lots of different things including spending time with my pets including my snake, tarantula and other reptiles and insects. PS4, watching horror films and my big passions collecting fossils, animal skulls, precious and semi-precious stones and Lego, going for long walks on beaches and woods.

I have found it hard to go out more recently but am hoping with a great team this will change.

I have autism and can get really anxious at times which leads me to be angry & frustrated with the people around me. I have had some terrible experiences in the past with the people supporting me hurting me and letting me down so it may take a long time for me to trust you, but when I do, we will have so much fun. I need people to help me who are kind, caring, have a sense of humour, calm, consistent and compassionate. When I’m anxious you will need to be able to handle these times calmly and after a tough day, step into the next holding no grudges.

Ideally you need to be able to drive and you must be willing to work as a team with me and my family and importantly you have to like the things I like, especially animals. If you think this is for you, please apply.

The role

You will assist the service manager to ensure that Jack receives high quality support.

You will be delegated management tasks and given off-rota time to manage this.  Some of the delegated tasks will include: rota management, 121s, training new staff, and leading the team to complete support plans, risk assessments and all the rest of the activity to enable Jack to achieve outcomes. You will be expected to manage the team in the absence of the service manager.

Working in partnership with Jack, his family and our specialist support teams you’ll champion skillful interactions, person-centred planning and partnership working to plan and implement professionally designed support plans that genuinely improve the quality of everyday life.

Acting as a role model and mentor to the team you’ll facilitate the use of collaborative working, sound judgment and creative solutions to enable both them and Jack to achieve individual goals and develop. You will manage staff performance, training and appraisals ensuring the team are equipped and motivated to deliver the best support possible.
