Supported Living Manager

Location: Kennington, OX1 Oxfordshire

Hours: Full time, Permanent, 37.5 hours. 

Salary:  £35,000 per annum + Benefits

33 days holiday (incl. bank holidays), increasing to 36 days with long service (1 extra day for each year of service)

About the Service:

Kennington Support Service provides supported living services for adults who have learning disabilities or who are autistic.

We provide support for up to six people living within three self-contained properties in Kennington. This service is specifically designed to support people who have learning disabilities or who are autistic to live and engage in their local community, as part of the ‘transforming care agenda’.

We aim to excel as a specialist provider of quality care and support, ensuring the people we support are at the heart of everything we do.

We support people to make choices and express their individuality. Personalisation is not a tick box exercise for us, but is fundamental to how we deliver our mission every single day of the year.

Scope of the Job

Working in partnership with our consultant behaviour analysts and multi disciplinary team you will lead, mentor and support your team to implement the support needed to maximise choice, independence and control. This will include ensuring that support plans are relevant and responding to the needs of the individuals, that partnerships are promoted to support their social and health needs and the team are accessing the right training and development in order to deliver the best possible support. In addition you will create and maintain an environment that promotes collaborative working and facilitates the use of sound judgment and creative solutions to enable both the people we support and team members to achieve their goals and develop and progress individually.

About the Company

As such you’ll be a proven manager with an NVQ 4 in Care and Management and experience of working with people with autism and behaviour support needs, or a experienced Deputy in a large service.  You’ll be passionate about providing quality care and personalised services with the ability to drive improvement within budgetary controls. An understanding and knowledge of the principles of positive behaviour support, autism, relevant legislation and CQC standards will be essential for this role. In addition you’ll possess a current driving licence with the ability to travel independently as required and be able to work flexibly to respond to the needs of the service and partake in on call to provide emergency support include evenings and weekends.
