About The Role

Come and work in a unique care setting where you can really make a difference in the lives of other people.

We need caring, physically fit people to join the team here at SeeAbility’s Heather House in Tadley. Working day shifts, including weekends, we need you to help the people we support with all aspects of daily living. The comfort, health and well-being of our people are really important to us.

Heather House is a residential home providing Nursing care to a group of 16 younger adults who have visual impairments with complex physical, learning and healthcare needs. Most people living with us will receive palliative and end of life care.

Your shifts will be interesting and varied, you will help the people we support physically (helping with personal support, mobility, eating and drinking) and emotionally in all aspects of their daily lives. You will support people’s choices and decisions in their day to day lives, going out and joining in with our day service. You will also be able to help with our hydrotherapy, gym, gardening, music and cookery sessions depending on your own skills and interests.

Most importantly you will work to a high standard, enabling people we support to keep in touch with families and friends and to live life to the full.

About You:

You’ll need to be sociable, caring and supportive, and demonstrate patience and be able to remain calm under pressure. Above all you’ll want to make a difference. You’ll take pride in providing consistent levels of support, but also be able to work with people to find innovative ways of achieving goals.

You must have great attention to detail and be able to understand and follow written support plans, with the ability to speak and write clearly in English. You must be able to demonstrate respect and good customer service and have a degree of emotional resilience. Motivation and a desire to always do your best along with the ability to reflect will help you develop in your role.

You’ll benefit from working with a team of passionate, qualified and skilled specialists, an outstanding induction and training programme with on-going development and the option to gain formal qualifications as well as the opportunity to progress your career in a sector that genuinely offers careers for life. In addition we also offer a range of benefits including flexible working options, long service and recognition awards, including increasing annual leave and bonus incentives and company pension and life assurance schemes.
