Who will you be supporting?

Hi, my name is Emily and I'm shortly going to be living in my own home in the Sittingbourne area of Kent and will be supported by SeeAbility.

I’m looking for a support worker (ideally a driver) to support me to do the things I love initially whilst I’m still living in my family home on the Isle of Sheppey. I’d then love you to continue to support me when I move into my new house.

Experience supporting people like me, a young lady with learning disabilities and some complex health needs, would be essential.  I am looking for happy, calm, enthusiastic and trustworthy Support Workers to join my team. You need to support me to lead the life I want and to encourage me to be gradually more and more skilled and confident.

Whilst I need a quiet and happy environment in my home, I really enjoy going out and doing things like trampolining, cycling, swimming, and shopping.  I also like music and dancing, so I’d love it if you liked these things too.

I’d love for people to join my team who have the same interests as me so they would need to be 100% reliable and able to provide me with personal care support. I have ADHD and sometimes my behaviour can be challenging but that shouldn’t stop me doing the things I love and leading an active life.

I’ll need your encouragement to learn life skills and gain independence but that’s something everyone needs at times; as long as you are patient, confident and can see the value in small gains, we will get along just fine!

About you

You will be looking for full-time hours 37.5 per week and happy to work on a rota basis, covering a combination of mornings, evenings, and weekend support.

Although we welcome you if you've been a Care Assistant, Support Worker or equivalent, experience isn’t necessary. At SeeAbility, our values are of upmost importance to us, paired with a kind, caring and an enthusiastic approach.

If this, is you, then we would love to hear from you.  We are looking for people who embrace differences, promote inclusivity, and value and respect one another.

You must be a driver with a manual licence.
