Job title:   Speech and Language Therapist

Salary:      £28,500 - £29,400 plus 2k car allowance (Pro rata)

Location:  Based at Heather House, Tadley

Various shifts available from 15 - 40 hours per week.

Heather House provides specialist nursing care to 16 individuals with life limiting conditions, Learning Disabilities, visual impairments and a range of complex health needs.

We require an experienced Speech and Language therapist who has knowledge and experience of supporting individuals with Dysphagia, complex communication, disabilities and sight loss. You must hold a professional qualification and be registered with HCPC and RCSLT.

The main purpose of your role will be to:

  • Carry out assessments, diagnosis and therapy for the individuals that we support
  • Training and advice for the staff team to enhance each person’s quality of life.
  • Ensuring all documentation for the individuals that we support is up to date, accurate and evidenced based
  • To liaise with families and other professionals within the service and the organisation with regards to Speech and Language therapy needs

  • Provide support and information to the people we support and their families.
  • Interact effectively on a professional level with colleagues, and seek to establish and maintain productive relationships with all.

Person specification:

Essential
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Membership of The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Be fully trained in the assessment and treatment of eating and swallowing difficulties,(dysphagia)

  • Awareness of RCSLT Dysphagia Training & Competency Framework- and be at, or working towards level C.
