Job Role

Support Worker (Positive Behaviour Support, PBS)

Location: Isle of Sheppey, Kent

Salary: £10.05 per hour

Hi, my name is Emily and I'm shortly going to be living in my own home in Kent and will be supported by SeeAbility.

Experience supporting people like me, a young lady with learning disabilities and some complex health needs, would be essential.  I am looking for happy, calm, enthusiastic and trustworthy Support Workers to join my team. You need to support me to lead the life I want and to encourage me to be gradually more and more skilled and confident.

Whilst I need a quiet and happy environment in my home, I really enjoy going out and doing things like swimming and shopping.  I also like music and dancing so I’d love it if you liked these things too.

I’d love for people to join my team who have the same interests as me so they would need to be 100% reliable and able to provide me with personal care support. I have ADHD and sometimes my behaviour can be challenging but that shouldn’t stop me doing the things I love and leading an active life.

I’ll need your encouragement to learn life skills and gain independence but that’s something everyone needs at times; as long as you are patient, confident and can see the value in small gains, we will get along just fine!

Who are SeeAbility?

SeeAbility encourages people with disabilities to challenge what they expect from life, from themselves and from wider society. The people we support overcome huge barriers to achieve exciting new things every day: some big, some small, all extraordinary. They challenge us all to rethink disability.

About You:

You don’t have to be a miracle worker although that would be great. Join us and you’ll benefit from an industry leading training and induction programme as well as one of the sector's most comprehensive teams of in-house specialists.

You’ll gain formal qualifications as well as the opportunity to progress your career in a sector that genuinely offers careers for lifeIn addition we also offer a range of benefits including flexible working options, long service and recognition awards and company pension and life assurance schemes.

All you need is to share our values and be as passionate as we are about enabling the people we support to achieve the extraordinary each and every day.

Are you that person that could help Emily have a confident, happy and fulfilling life in her new home?
