Senior Support Worker (Nursing Care)

£20,592 - £20,982 per annum (dependent on qualification)

37.5 hours per week

The Role:

Working at Heather House; a residential home (Nursing) for 16 younger adults with sight loss, complex needs and life limiting conditions, you will work on a rotational shift basis, including weekends and evenings, within an established team and be a role model to other staff while providing ongoing support to individuals, including full assistance with basic personal needs, complex nutritional support and palliative care. You will join an established staff team, who share a passion for providing an excellent, person centred approach for the people we support.

As a key member of the senior team you will demonstrate flair and enthusiasm to enable the people we work with to live an extraordinary life.

You will mentor and induct new staff as well as coach, supervise and support the ongoing development of allocated support workers 

Requirements for a Senior Support Worker:

  • Caring and passionate about making a real difference to someone’s life
  • You will be creative in ensuring that the individual’s we support are safe, happy and actively engaged.
  • You will need to be organised and flexible, to meet the changing needs of the services.
  • You will be professional and proactive in all that you do, encouraging and supportive of the individual’s and colleagues alike.
  • You are motivated, dynamic and resilient and a strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • You will need at least 1 years’ experience at senior support worker level and experience of working with people who have complex disabilities.
  • Holding at least QCF level 2 (Level 3 or equivalent is the desired qualification for the post). You will demonstrate an ability to use your own initiative, particularly with regard to daily guidance of support staff.
  • You will have strong communication and I.T. skills and the ability to drive our services vehicles will be advantageous.
